Camp Schedule (Day 2): On day 2, the girls came and started out with the melting ice experiment, watching the effect of salt on ice. Then they were given time to work on their bridges. We were able to use the school's Van de Graph generator and so next we talked about electricity and used the Van de Graph generator to make everyone's hair stand out and transfer small shocks. Next, using static electricity the girls timed how long it takes to move a balloon one yard using an empty soda can without touching the can to the balloon. Lunch time next, and again we took it outside. After lunch the girls watched example videos of Rube Goldberg machines and started building their own with a partner. Then they ended the day with time to finish up their bridges and were given a snack with discussion like day 1.
